Looking for laptop ram at a reasonable price!

My friend has an alienware laptop with 8 gb of ram(2x4gb) and his laptop only has two ram slots, he's trying to upgrade to at least 16 gbs, but everything looks very expensive.
So we're trying to find one with the most reasonable price, if we can't decide on one he's just going to wait until November for some deals(it's not that he can't afford it, he's just cheap).

Crucial is definitely a good site to use, but they don't have the best prices or memory timings. Currently I would favor the Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2666 CAS 18 kits like this for $145:

If you want the fastest available, I like the HyperX Impact DDR4 2666 CAS 15 kit for $173:

As far as waiting for the best deal goes, it is usually possible to get 10% off memory through Newegg around black friday.
