Looking for Legit Windows XP for VirtualBox

I have used VirtualBox to run the VirtualXPVHD file from the Windows XP Mode executable file that I downloaded from Microsoft. I was able to use Windows XP for 30 days, and now it wants me to activate it.

I'm trying to find a legit copy of Windows XP so that I can play some Windows XP games that I bought off of eBay.

you can't buy it anymore as far as i know. might find some used keys for sale but i doubt anything new is still available to buy.

found this seller but can't say anything about them or if they are legit or not. https://www.buycheapsoftware.com/details.asp?productID=5741 rather expensive though for such an old OS even if it is new media.

Install lu/ubuntu and wine,you can even check beforehand if a game/app will run and if it will have any trouble.

Also most games have been patched to run on modern OSes do a search for each of them to see if you get lucky,even list them here someone might know something about how to make them run.

GOG is also a place to look at for future buys since they sell old games for cheap and they already did everything needed to make them run.

sorry but that was the only hit i could find and it seems to not be there now.

only other thing i can think of is to seek out old used systems from craigslist or ebay. i get a ton of these old systems donated to my church and most still have their win xp stickers on them. if you can get an old pc case with a sticker still on it, you can use that key for your VM. pretty much going to be your only shot unless you can find someone sellig xp keys which is very doubtful since it is such an old os and not been sold for a VERY long time.

TerryLaze, I have no experience with lu/ubuntu, but I'll give it a shot. The games I'm trying to run are TKKG. They're a series of mystery games about 3 boys and 1 girl who team up together to solve crimes in their small town. I've tried looking for patches on Google, but they only work with Windows Vista and I'm running Windows 10.

GOG doesn't sell the TKKG games but someone added them to the wishlist.

typically a normal big box store PC will have an OEM license that is tied to the mobo and is non transferable
