Looking for the longest range USB WiFi adapter for my laptop that is of reasonable size (no outdoor antenna sizes please).
Ive narrowed down my choices to 4 options:
1. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I7QFR10/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
2. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YIFHJY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2LM6ZPY06LT1N&psc=1
3. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0756YCTY3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A294H1W3HUESPN&psc=1
4. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IEU7UZ0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A2JTFL4V8HYESG&psc=1
Please let me know which one would perform best regarding range. If there is a better option not listed please mention it.
This device will have two uses at my apartment:
1. Get an WiFi connection at the pool which is 100 - 200 yards away
2. Get a WiFi connection from a different apartment in the same building, separated by floors and a breezeway. I am on the second floor and the apartment I am going to be staying in for some time is on the first floor. Want to get reception from my router on the 2nd floor to first floor apartment.
My router is an ASUS AC3100 - need a high powered Wifi Adapter to connect to it in above situations.
Im pretty sure the highest output allowed by the FCC here in the US by these types of things is 1,000 mW (1 Watt). Due to that, perhaps its the dB antenna power that will be the single biggest factor in determining range, not device power. I am not sure. Please advise.
Thanks
