Hello! I am new to this, but I've been saving for a gaming rig for some next gen games already, but I am saving that as a long term goal. Right now however, I am trying to make-do with playing Dota 2 until I have enough for my new rig. Unfortunately, my current desktop is really old, so I am planning a little upgrade since I don't want to spend a huge sum of money. Here's my desktops specs: Intel Core i3 2100,2GB RAM, (no GPU), Orion Power Supply ATX 600W. MoBo P8h61-M LE. I am planning to buy the GPU Palit Geforce210 1024MB DDR3 Video Card 64bit along with Kingston HyperX Fury 4GB DDR3 1866mhz Gamer's Overclocking Memory. will it be enough to run dota 2 smoothly? and is it compatible with my desktop? I am particularly worried about my Mobo and PSU. Also, if you could suggest something great with a lower or slightly higher price that would be great! Really hope anyone out there could help out. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

meager upgrades you say?

2 more gigs of ram

Your motherboard may only have 2 memory slots so check that out. You can't save money by purchasing 2 x1GB sticks so a new 4 gb set would be best. See below for the cheapest set available to you. Your processor does not natively support anything above ddr3 1333Mhz so that is what I selected below.

And for the GPU unless you plan to buy used this is a good deal,

No it's not a gaming card but it can easily play dota 2 well. I was able to play borderlands (original) 720p on medium/ low graphics settings with 4gigs or ram and a similar processor. Dota 2 isn't nearly that gpu intensive
If all you really want is to play dota 2 this will be exactly the level of performance you need to play on high with frames in the 30fps range. Some older used gaming card might be a good deal right now, a used 6850 or 5770/6770 from AMD/ATI or a 8800gt or 9600gt would be extremely well suited for this game and can be found as cheap as 30 dollars.

Hey sir! Thanks for your help again btw. Your suggestions are really sweet, but I can't find it here. Will a SAPPHIRE HD 6450 1GB DDR3 do the same job? Also, how about this?

I would like to know what you have to say about this. Thanks again!

Thanks for the great suggestion! I think I'm gonna go with that. :) I think it is just a couple of bucks more but do you think SAPPHIRE R7 240 1GB GDDR5 128BIT than SAPPHIRE R7 240 2GB DDR3 WITH BOOST?

Again, I really, really appreciate your help. Thanks man!
