Looking for modem compatible with Optimum

Hey guys, I just moved and I am now in search for a new modem. Optimum is very specific in the shown link.

You cannot find these modems easily and they are more expensive than other modems. Should I specifically get one of these modems or is there some other modems that I should consider as well?

You don't need those modems that they listed. Those are overpriced crap. Buy a basic modem without extra junk and use your own router.
Depends on what speed you are ordering from Optimum.

I would suggest going to the forums for your existing router and asking fpor recommendations ... without optimum support, you are going to want support available from somewhere and having the same brand gets you away from the auto "its the other guy" response. Also be aware, if you have a problem, and Optimum comes to troubleshoot, watch them carefully. They seem to like to fix a wire, come inside to check and then say "Oh ya problem was with **your* equipment".
