Hi there,

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU card however I'm not too sure what is the "best" to get on the market at the moment. With the RTX storming the field seemingly with more issues than anything I was a little unsure of what I should be looking for

Requirements:
I will only buy Nvidia cards, I know what I'm dealing with and it is what I prefer due to the software, access to shadowplay etc etc.

Price:
Not an object specifically however if it is going to be expensive I would need some form of justification to match the high price.

I live in the UK; as such parts from companies in this country would be preferred (Example: Scan.co.uk)

Resolution:

1920 x 1080 with the potential of moving to 2560 x 1440 later down the line.

Overclocking:
No plans to overclock at all.

Being used for:

Heavy gaming on games such as: Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Total War: Warhammer 2, The Witcher 3, Total War: Three Kingdoms (In future), Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord (In future), Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, Squad.

Approximate Purchase Date:

Depends completely on price but would say any time within 6 months maybe less maybe more; however as stated price is not my worry and as such fluctuations will not matter in consideration.

rtx 2060 will be a nice choice. it's not crazily expensive and do offer a comfortable 2k gaming experience.

Would the 2060 enable me to sit comfortably at 144 fps with relatively high graphical settings? (I don't need ultra, just want to jump up from medium)

I've heard some bad things about the RTX series already to do with faults etc etc. - Is that as big of an issue as described?

rtx 2060 will be a nice choice. it's not crazily expensive and do offer a comfortable 2k gaming experience.

Would the 2060 enable me to sit comfortably at 144 fps with relatively high graphical settings? (I don't need ultra, just want to jump up from medium)

most of the issue happens with 2080/2080ti, since you have 6 months, you can keep an eye for the failure rates.
rtx 2060 is a gtx1070ti/1080 equivalent card, you can pull up some youtube reviews and get some general performance number.

not sure if EVGA step up program works, it says EU countries are included, but i'm not sure with the whole brexit thing, if UK is included. other than the 2060 or 2070. i don't really have any suggestions, 2080/2080ti are stupidly expensive for 20%-40% gains.

I've had a look around and found two that caught my eye, an MSI as I know their build quality is good (Have had this GTX 970 for a long while now and had no issues at all in its lifetime.) So I would be keen to support them again, and from the looks of the comparison I can't really see any reason to buy the more expensive card here as even the boost clock is better on the MSI aspect of things, there's nothing that I can see that ASUS are doing BETTER than MSI in this comparison.

From looking at two more ASUS ones the only improvement is the fact that it has a third fan, other than that the boost clock is STILL worse or matches the MSI build which is substantially cheaper.

To me so far, I'm probably going to end up buying the MSI card when it releases unless I see something to tell me that ASUS has some kind of magical thing not mentioned above that makes it better.

Yup.. From lots more research everyone I see is suggesting EVGA are shit, ASUS are overpriced and that MSI are the best to go for.. Think I found my GPU unless anyone disagrees.
