From what i can tell i need a new CPU most, I want better performance in my games mainly. Any recommendations would be nice but please within budget, not crazy prices please. Thank you!

you can buy a i7 processor in 300 pounds XD.......can you send more details about your motherboard specs??and send the exact budget??

Yeah. You'd want to go with a:
i5 3570k: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Generation-i5-3570K-3-40GHz-Technology/dp/B007RUZKK6
i7 3770k: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Generation-i7-3770K-3-50GHz-Technology/dp/B007X1JM30/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1383665704&sr=1-1&keywords=3770k

Huge discount on that 3770k. Both would deliver excellent gaming performance.

Your motherboard is compatible with these CPU's: http://uk.msi.com/product/mb/H61M-P31--G3-.html#/?div=CPUSupport

Those 2 I picked out are probably the best. Those intel i5 k series or i7 k series are basically the best you can get for gaming at the moment, some of the AMD FX line are on par.

Okay, thanks. Would i be better off buying the i5 or a new GPU which would give better performance?

Also Are AMD cpu any good? from your experience ?

No, won't be compatible with your motherboard. I thought it was FM2 but it's not.

I think you'd be better off getting the i5. I think you have a 7770 GPU which should be just fine with most games on mid-high settings.

One thing you could do to check whether you need a new CPU / GPU is this: Go in to a game and monitor your FPS as well as your cpu and gpu usage. Change the graphics settings. If you do not observe higher FPS from changing the graphics settings it means that your CPU is limiting (bottlenecking) your graphics card's potential. Another thing to watch out for is your CPU / GPU usage. If your CPU usage is at like 100% and your GPU usage is low then again the CPU is bottlenecking the GPU. Worth a try before spending any money.

THanks for all the help. Just one final thing before I pick solution, is this CPU up to par as the i5 ? its cheaper, would provide me the extra money to get a better cpu cooler, and the site says its high end.
And will it fit my setup?
AMD A10 6800K

I would open the case and get the exact model of motherboard. The one you gave seems to be kind of obscure as to what board it actually is. If it is this board, http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H61M-P31--G3-.html#/?div=CPUSupport, then you can go with a Xeon 1230 v2. It is probably the best CPU for the money for non overclocking 1155 boards. A 3570k/3770k are pointless since H61 chipsets do not overclock.

That cpu is not compatible with your motherboard and not even close to i5 in performance.

How do you tell if it is compatible?

Socket.

It also says here. http://uk.msi.com/product/mb/H61M-P31--G3-.html#/?div=CPUSupport
