Looking for new monitor for new build

I just built my new system (FX 6300 o/c'd to 4.2 along with R9 280x gpu) and would like to upgrade my ~6 year old 22" Dell monitor. I've read as much as I can about different monitors, but am still unshure what I'm looking for. My budget would be around 300, but I may push that to 350 if it's a great deal.

If you suggest one, please tell me why. I do game, with most of my time being on DA: Inquisition. I normally get around 50fps when in a really intense fight, but closer to 100-120 the rest of the time. If I'm correct, I think my monitor is limiting to 60fps since it's a 60hz refresh rate.

Here, if image quality is what you care about the most, this would be the one for you, it's pretty cheap for a Full HD 1080p IPS panel

If you want to run really smooth and want higher refresh rates, this one is close to $250 1080p 144Hz monitor with 1 ms response time, but it is not IPS, and IPS has the best image quality for monitors.

Hey, I forgot to update this when I made the purchase, but here it is. I didn't go with the exact one you suggested, but only because AOC's 144Mhz 1ms 24" was on sale. Amazing the quality difference from my old 22" Dell that wouldn't go past 1050. Thanks for suggesting the faster refresh and response times!

AOC makes some pretty good and reliable monitors too, so it was also a good choice, but I'm glad you like the super fast fps refresh rate
