Looking For Nvidia Equivalent To R9 290 Tri X

Solution

a "little slower" .. it's actually 1/7 the speed. the last 0.5gb is totally useless for gaming and if you want to be honest with your advices you will say 3.5gb. it's still worth the money more than the 290, 290x ,390 or 390x.
The GTX 970 has a full 4GB of video ram. People need to quit spewing garbage on that.

Nvidia did go cheap on the memory crossbars, and the last .5GB is accessed a little slower than the rest of the 4GB of memory on the card. But most GTX 970 owners will tell you that they love their video card.

And for that matter, most R9 290X users will tell you that they love their cards too.

The R9 290 in my link is about 260$, and all the 970 cards I can find go over 300$. Is it really worth is for the extra 50-100$? Also, it's only a 290 (not the 290x)

So should I go with:

I went looking around. Yes, the GTX 970 is a better card than the R9 290.

But, I then took a look at the R9 290X. The R9 290X is priced lower than most GTX 970 cards are, but gets beat by the R9 290X. So I think the best deal for you is the R9 290X.
