Approximate Purchase Date: 4/15/2023
Budget Range: Approximately $1100, after shipping
System Usage from Most to Least Important: 1080p gaming with Ray Tracing
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: CPU, Motherboard, Video Card, RAM, PSU
I downloaded RE4 Remake on PC, only to find the minimum system requirements are a whole generation beyond my current video card (AMD RX 480). To upgrade the video card to a current generation, I'll have to upgrade my motherboard, and thus my CPU, and my RAM, etc. It's all at least 6 years old.
Here are my current plans, I just wanted to get opinions to see if there were better options out there within my budget.
Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS ELITE AX LGA 1700 Intel Z790 ATX Motherboard with DDR5
Video Card: Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition 8GB
PSU: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750 W ATX 80 PLUS GOLD
CPU: Intel Core i5-13600K
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 5600
I'm most wary about the Intel video card, as I've read it's a new product line. However it's also the most economical Ray-Tracing-enabled option I've found, with similar cards from Nvidia and ATI coming in over $100 more.
Any advice would be welcomed!
