Basically im overall satisfied with my toshiba laptop ( under 400 $), plays the games i want to play .

but i have ben looking for while now for some way to under volt it, and possibly tiny overclock to it, but main concern is lowest voltage as possible.

Anyone on here have this processor ?

Name shown on cpu-z

AMDk16 code name mullins

AMD A8-6410 with AMD Radeon R5

PS -ill be looking in search and if i find this has ben made ill post for yall to delete .

I want to mostly is main reason but other reasons are, lower temps More less control, ownership thing, & learning/developing comp exp n knowledge for self interests.

Well you can reduce the maximum clock to the lowest in the windows power settings to stop the processor from increasing clock.

If you mean you want to change the clock speed like you would if you were to overclock than you won't be allowed or atleast it will be extremely difficult.

That CPU is locked meaning it is designed to operate at certain clock speeds set by the manufacturer (idle - 1-1.4GHz, medium load - 2 ghz, maximum/heavy load - turbo freq) if this makes sense.

If you want to learn about changing clock speeds, find an old cheap motherboard and CPU combo and test on that instead of your main machine/laptop as messing up can lead to a dead machine.

I suggest restricting the clock speed in the windows power management system and forget underclocking it manually.

Btw M8 ty for your fast replies, I do have an old laptop that i would use for back up if this broke, ( old one CPU is amd apu c-60 Code name Ontario, brazos tweaker worked for that one undervolt wise)

If their aren't any undervolting programs for this cpu, and if i can not find a modded bios etc, any other ideas to keep temps low as possible? ( all suggestions i welcome even if they more less for exp pros, since if they seemed to much for me a "work shop/Play test" computer Is something i will consider buying in future. ( i could use my old one to do heavy duty experiments but cant do that to him)

ty for your time

About the temperatures, in the windows power management area in advanced settings, set the CPU clock to the lowest percentage possible as this will stop it from clocking to 2 GHz and it will stay at idle speed but it will also affect performance.

Setting the fan to active mode instead of passive will also keep the fan running instead of letting it turn off at a certain temperature.

Also put the GPU into a low power mode in the catalyst settings since it can generate quite a bit of heat.

has anyone here ever edit a bios before ? If yes ,Where is a good place to start if im noob never done any editing before.

I dont care if i end up messing up my comp coz simply put i break it oh well , ill buy another. I really would like answers not concerns please.

like stuff like if i edited a bios what i guess command or script is in charge of voltage and clocks etc
