Looking for pros to give me the best solution.

Current Specs:-
I5 2500k 3.30Ghz not OC.
6670 1GB DDR3.
Windows 7 Ultimate.
8192 MB RAM.
1 TB Hard Drive.
Motherboard Is a ASUS-p8z77-v lx2.
22" 1920 xx 1080p monitor.
500w ATX PSU ( i think it is a cheap one not sure though)

Wanting to add new parts:
Corsair 500R MID Tower.
R9 290x
XFX 650W

My dilemma is:
1. Will my CPU be sufficient without overclock or will it need to be overclocked. (will i need a gpu cooler instead of stock fan with or without the overclock?)
2. Reading that the 290x works best at the 95c temperature and AMD suggest to keep it this way for maximum performance for all its lifespan and it is a safe temperature... will my new corsair case cool the GPU too much or will it just filter the warm air from the PC and not affect the gpu.

My apologize for sounding like a robot but i try to make it efficient reading as to get the best answer thanks for your time.

1. Your CPU will be fine without overclocking. If you do choose to overclock, you need an aftermarket cooler.
2. You can never cool a card too much with air cooling. You have to cool well below air temperature before this is a problem, which is not possible with air or water cooling.

Your cpu is fine without an OC, but getting an after market cooler like the coolermaster hyper212 is a good idea as the stock coolers are terrible in comparison.

The 290x does not operate best at 95c, but that is where the card starts to cut back to protect itself. GPUs should never operate long periods of time above 82 or so, ideally much lower which isn't difficult to achieve. The case should keep the card cool as there is a 200m blowing air directly on the card. There are also a lot of extra fan slots in the case so you can always add fans if you need it.

Depending on what your running and how much load actually gets put on the GPU there's a chance of CPU bottle necking at stock freq's, but the i5-2500K is one of the best CPU's ever made for overclocking and with just a 30-40 dollar CPU fan can be overclocked to not be an issue.

the older sandy bridge cpu are still great gaming cpu without needing to over clock them. looking at real world test the ib cpu are about 8 percent faster then your cpu. the haswell are about 10-15 percent faster. most of the newer tech in haswell was not speeding up the x86 side of the cpu but making there gpu side of the chips faster. haswell do to the die shrink runs real hot...so it not a good over clocker as your cpu is. the 290/290x stock cards should not have been build...as they run way too hot in games not to fail. amd needs to take a page from nvidia and make sure there high end cards have good cooling before they ship them. with the larger case you have is great for gaming as with the extra room and the open top you get natural heat movement. hot air will rise up out of the case. the two top case fans should be set to blow air out of the case. then on the bottom of the case use one fan to pull cold air in. just make sure the case not on carpet that the fan can suck in dirt and dust. on these newer cases I use one of the small tower holders.

there are cheaper non moving stands like this one. on your rebuild look into buying a fan controller if the case does not have one. 120mm fans running at 100 percent can be loud. also on your new power supply check that it been haswell tested. if in a year or two you swap out the mb and cpu you want a haswsell tested power supply or it wont run right.

ur xfx 650w PSU is more than sufficient wattage required
and cpu is fine. If u want to oc u can with the help of a cooler

I was going to get some fan covers hopefully to keep out all the dust but i have to say that tower tray is fancy at the moment its just going to sit on my wooden desk next to me.. And you say the R9's should not have been built, is this maybe they rushed them out to compete with nvidias titan etc? i have to admit my gaming load is very extreme i can sit on the computer gaming a long time and i think i will test it to the limits this is a question in my mind now as to if i will end up breaking the 290x within the year... i have not purchased it atm i was waiting to see what the tesla/maxwell gpus where all about.. but back on the other side everything about to 290's screams awesome abilty from what i have read/watched so far.

R9 290X with a decent cooler is great.
The reference coolers were not able to keep the card cool.
