APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Late December/January

BUDGET RANGE: USD 300ish would be my limit

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming - primarily WOW/SWTOR but I plan on purchasing Skyrim/Deus Ex Human Revolution and would really like a card that can handle them at higher settings if feasible.

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: XFX Radeon 5750 1GB with 1000W PSU

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Dell XPS 720 - 8GB memory, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHZ processor

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1200

Thanks so much for your consideration!

I disagree, do you have some benchmark link to demonstrate that his CPU will bottleneck his GPU?

well well well, my friend no his CPU shouldn't bottleneck his card rather he needs a new card for gaming he clearly wrote.

or

if you're talking about 7000 series then there is no benchmark available at the moment but i'm 99% sure his cpu can bottleneck the 7000 series of Kepler just his cpu is starting model in quad-core.

not all of the 7000's will be "killers" I'm sure there will be several tiers of performance and since they are supposedly going out to market sometime in January I think he should wait till they drop to decide on what he wants.

You are still ignoring my point about different tiered graphics cards. Right now we see xx50's and xx70's and xx90's for grades of performance. Waiting to see what drops in January and getting something appropriate based on benchmarks is probably the best bet.

Speaking of Kelper...I was about to say wait until then to get it but after reading this article on TOM's I would say get something now. Looks like the flagship model of Kelper will not even be available until 2013! And the first card to come out in 2nd Qtr only has 128bit interface and is not even a mainstream card. The PCI Express 3.0 Nvidia cards (the ones which would likely make a difference) are projected to be released mid 2012.

The AMD 7000 series is still an option in 1st - 2nd quarter 2012 but the preliminary estimates have it slated to sell for around $400 to $500.

Maybe getting a GTX560ti / GTX570 / HD6950 would be a good option.
