Looking for Router+Modem combo for gaming 60 mbps

I currently have I currently have an asus nt66u router with charter. I have 60mbps download speeds and 5 upload speed. My speed test as a result of 29 Mbps when I pay for 60. When directly connected to the computer I receive anywhere from 40 to 60 Mbps, I was still the problem was the router.. But to be safe, I want to replace the modem to.

My first question was the first question is my first question is, is the difference between all the high-end routers since I can only get 60 Mbps?

The second question I have is what is the best router+modem combo available?

Stay with discrete modem and router. Combo units are tied to a specific type of ISP (cable, DSL, etc). Your N66U should be able to handle 60Mbit just fine with wired or wireless. You may want to do some troubleshooting on the existing router before abandoning it. What firmware are you running?
