So, as the title suggest i have recently built a PC on pcpartpicker, and i am looking for advice on things i could change or take out to make the comp better but still stay within my 800-900 budget.

I want to run games like GTA5, Far Cry Primal, Crysis 3 and so on with near high or high settings and clock about 60fps.

My Build Idea: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/B8d9qs

If you need any information just ask. Any and all helpful or nice comments are much appreciated thank you all for your advice.

Solution

  • ■You don't need the cooler or the paste with a locked CPU.
■An H170 board is a bit less cost. You don't need Z170 with a locked CPU.
■Corsair PSU is not too good. Replaced with higher quality EVGA model.
■Savings of about $50 with same performance.

I'm not at the moment, however i am looking to eventually upgrade to a cpu that can overclock. But, im kind of in between on the matter, seeing as how from my research a cpu doesnt matter as much to gaming as other components. So, i feel as though overclocking it would only gain a slight fps boost.

This is correct. If, however, you were using an AMD cpu, overclocking becomes somewhat of a necessity. As it stands, the Intel cpu will do a great job and the system will perform well as is.

Since an operating system wasn't chosen previously, I did not add one. Note that the MB price is only good for a few more hours.
