I have been going back and fourth on what I should choose to upgrade in my gaming PC. The current specs I'm working with I've listed below. I was first thinking on doing my CPU and graphics card. What would all of you recommend I do?
  • Intel® Core™ i3-9100F 3.60GHz
  • Thermal Compound
  • ASRock H310CM-HDV
  • (2) * 8GB DDR4-2666 Patriot Premium
  • AMD Radeon® RX 550 2GB
  • Patriot Burst 240GB 2.5in SATA3 SSD
  • Maxtor Z1 240GB 2.5in SATA3 SSD
  • 500W ATX12V POWER SUPPLY
  • Onboard RAID Controller
  • (3) * Standard 120mm Case Fans
  • Set Talos E1 Micro ATX Tower

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: this week (the closer the better)

Budget Range: 500-600 ideally but I am open to most things.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming PC looking to be able to play most games at ideally 60+ fps or realistically 144.

Are you buying a monitor: No.

Parts to Upgrade: CPU, graphics card, I will also be adding some more ram.

Do you need to buy OS: No
Please note that if you're using an OEM license of Windows, you will need a new one when buying a new motherboard.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
Not really sure. I tend to go with the best options available

Location: I'm in WI

Parts Preferences: I would like to continue with intel, but would like to switch to Nvidia

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: Unsure. I wanted to switch graphics card will this need to be changed or??

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 .144

Additional Comments: NA

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading:
I am having trouble with running some older games. And can hardly run new games that are releasing.

Updated ask for help Per Lutfij. Hope this better helps. Thanks everyone.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

The question that comes up first is, what are you currently taxing the system with at this moment of time? I would get a new build going, with the condition that you retain the storage options. You didn't mention the make and model of your case nor the PSU and it's subsequent age. Out of curiosity, why do you have a RAID controller in a gaming system? Was it a server of sorts?

Might want to add more info as asked for in this thread. We can move forward with build suggestions.

I added the case. Spec sorry. I built it on a budget in 2021. Trying to run diablo 4 in at least 60 fps. Really trying to get it to be able to perform on most older games at 60+ fps. Currently running the Witcher 3 at 40 fps. But I can run wow classic and Overwatch 2 fine at 144. I also had the power supply in the mix or were you looking for something else?

What is the exact make and model of the Power Supply? Thats is what we need to determine if you need a new one.

Your next upgrade after the board, cpu, psu and RAM would be the graphics card.
