Looking for some noob GTX help

Ok, I am not real savvey when it comes to computers. I normally just turn it on and click on the game I want, but now that my digi storm computer is 7 years old I am going to attempt to upgrade my RAM and GTX 950. I have found a matching set of RAM sticks that are identical to the two I have in there now, so it should be simple to just pop in the new set in the free slots right? Now the GTX card is where I get a little confused. My mother board is an ASUS M5A97. I have been looking at https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487261. Is this going to work? Is it as simple as taking out the old one, poping in the new one and Dling the new drivers?

Memory may or may not boot even if identical.
What are the rest of your specs? I wouldn't invest any further in a FX platform.

AMD Bulldozer FX8150 3.6 GHZ 8 core
8gb ddr3 1600 MHZ corsair vengeance series RAM
600w Corsair GS
GeForce 650 (made a mistake in the OP)
Windows 10
Can you tell me why the RAM may not boot? Also why wouldn't upgrading be feasible? Thanks!!

16GB of memory is the norm now in building a PC , but won't really HELP performance on the FX setup. May not boot because memory can be incompatible even if identical if purchased at separate times. GTX 1060 is about right for your CPU in terms of pairing.

OK, thanks for the response. You advise that I keep the 8 gb RAM, where it is and the GTX 1060 would be a pretty good upgrade? The rig runs EVE Online fairly well with 3 clients running on potato mode, but could be better, hence the desire for an upgrade.

Yes and anything above the 1060 in terms of performance would be held back by the 8150. I would do the card for sure.
