Hi everyone,
I'm looking to make a few upgrades on my PC (motherboard,GPU and PSU).

Currently the processor I have is an i5 i3450 (3rd gen).

I would like suggestions on a good motherboard (Asus/Gigabyte) between 6000-7000 INR (approx $90-$110)

I am not able to identify the chipset type but the socket type is LGA 1155. So compatibility between the Mobo and CPU is of highest preference.
It would also be good if the MoBo had USB 3 ports since the current one has no USB 3 support.

I would also like suggestions on a PSU (600-650W, with atleast a Gold Rating). I had shortlisted the Corsair SF600 and the RM650. Which one of these should I chose? Or would you recommend better ones.

Apart from that I'm planning to upgrade my GPU to GTX 1070 when it launches soon.

So I hope that the GPU,CPU and PSU will be compatible with the MoBo that you will suggest.

Looking forward to your replies
Thank you.

INR 45000.
That's assuming that the GTX 1070 will be within INR 30000.

I need a new motherboard because it's giving me lots of frequent USB connectivity issues and also it does not have any USB 3 support. It's become slightly outdated. The issue is, if I change my motherboard now, then later if I try and change my CPU, I'll need to change the motherboard too, due to socket compatibility.

There is no motherboard like that 🙁
Time for a full upgrade I guess!

Ok, assuming I need to change my motherboard and processor both, and if I could drag my budget upto INR 60000, out of which 30k is for the gpu, what MoBo, PSU (600-650W) and CPU would you recommend?

Wow. Thank you so much for you suggestions.
I already have Kingston Fury HyperX 8gb. So I don't think I'll need RAM for now.
So maybe a better processor with the added 4k?

And will the upgrade be future proof for atleast another 2-3 years?

Yes, it will be good. You need DDR4 ram, so you need to buy this kit now.

Solution

Why will I be needing the DDR4 RAM for? The DDR 3 RAM won't be compatible?

That site has shipping charges, so not feasible. DDR3 with Skylake isn't good, remember only DDR3L and DDR4 are supported officially.

I have read that stuff. Also read this review. Skylake can work with regular DDR3. Motherboard is what controls ram compatibility. The whole voltage thing is an Intel recommendation. Just like you weren't supposed to run ram higher than a certain voltage, with Haswell, yet plenty of people did with high end DDR3 2400 kits.

Haswell is still an option, but you lose out on any future upgrades.
