Trying to find some type of power source that I could charge and then use to plug in things like a soldering iron, a laptop for to test posts, and maybe a light once in a while. I've really only have found UPS's and I'm not 100% sure how they work other than if the lights go out they can keep everything running for a short while. But I'm just looking for something I can plug into the wall overnight then take to my workbench area until I have a power outlet installed. Fire regulations in my are don't allow people to run power cords over 15ft apparently. So trying to find a battery powered option atm.

Hi
A UPS is what you need they charge up when plugged in then provide power when unplugged.
You will need to do some research into how long they will run for the power draw you will use.
