And I'm looking for advice on how to optimize it. I think I remember reading somewhere that you are not supposed to defrag an SSD, and I also read people say that their SSDs boot up in like 8 seconds (fully loaded into Windows 7).

Well, my doesn't seem to be quite that fast, so I am looking for advice on the best ways to take care of my SSD (for good longevity) and also increase the performance so that it loads me into Windows faster.

What settings do I need to check in Windows 7 to make sure everything is set up correctly, and where do I go to check/change those settings.

Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

Samsung Magician 4 is made for their SSD Drives, it's what to use , has my rig booting in less than 10 seconds.I click and all the changes are made for you.

Samsung Magician ^
Cool, thanks for the info and links guys. I've got Samsung Magician installed now, and I'm toying with the differences between Max Performance, Capacity, and Reliability. I guess a few extra seconds at start up is worth nearly 40 GB (12 GB for the hiberfile.sys on my machine and up to 27 GB for the virtual memory) of drive space. So I don't know that I'm going to shoot for maximum performance anymore.

I'll probably sacrifice a few seconds for restarts (and I don't ever hibernate my computer) to have more storage space for games and what not.
