The CPU is of a newer architecture, runs faster, and has more paths for upgrades in the future. DDR4 memory is also faster in every way compared to DDR3. I'm not quite sure why you decided to pick such an expensive 970 model, the EVGA FTW edition performs just as efficient, if not more, especially if you aren't overclocking. The case is personally one of my favorites and on sale. The power supply is a tier 2 unit, which has much higher quality components than the EVGA model. I removed the CD/DVD drive, because personally in my 8 years of owning two different PC's, I only used the drives twice. If you do plan on using a DVD's, just purchase an external one. I changed the Wifi adapter, as the PCI-E adapters are generally faster and more reliable. I hope that answers all of your questions.
EXTRA:
There are cheaper monitors and keyboard/mouse combos, but peripherals are really a user's choice.
