I have looked through a million forums regarding my question, and while they have been all useful, they are all from a couple of years ago, thus those processors are a bit out of date, and I can't actually find them in stock anywhere.
I have an eMachine ET1331G-05W.
MOBO(OEM): MCP61PM-GM
current processor(OEM): AMD Athlon II x2 250u 1.6ghz. (AM3 socket)
I have upgraded psu to a 600watt(Diablotek). I also upgraded the graphics card to a NVIDIA GTX 550Ti.
Here are the specs on the mobo http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/Shared/4006254R/4006254Rsp2.shtml
It states that it supports up to 89watt processors, but I have read a few forums where people used 95 watt cpus. One used an Athlon II x4 640 and the other was a Phenom.
Here is the PC: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6401363
I am really trying to avoid having to also upgrade the mobo. So, if someone could help me out with current processors that would work with my current one, that would be awesome.
