I know every year there is usually an article about the best value PC builds depending on budget. I found the 2019 one but not the 2020 one. Has one been made? Can you post the link for it?

This is my current system which I assembled in 2012. I’m considering upgrading. I do play games but nothing to system intensive like Company of Heroes, World of Warships, and some occasional things here and there. I'm not looking to overclock or anything. I just want a reliable system to have for awhile.

I originally bought Windows 7 Home edition and upgraded it for free to WIndows 10. If I do upgrade my system would I be able to install my Windows 7 and upgrade to 10 on the new one?

My system:
CPU: Core i5 3470 Quad Core 3.2 GHz
Motherboard: ASRock H77M LGA 1155 Intel H77 Micro ATX
Ram: Patriot Viper 3 8 GB (2x4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600
SSD/HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 7200 RPM 64 MB SATA
GPU: XFX R9 290 (3GB I believe)
PSU: Antec Basiq BP 550 Plus 550W
Chassis: Rosewill Challenger U3 ATX Mid Tower
OS: Windows 10 64 bit

Ryzen 3600, B450 board for flexibility and cost, 16 gb of DDR4 3200, an NVME of at least 500gb for boot and load, RTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT. MATX has the most flexibility in mobo choices and plenty of quality value cases. 550 watt ATX PSU should do the trick. Plenty of upgrade path and cost efficient. Plenty of speed and either GPU should give you plenty of gaming choices if you should so wish. GTX 1660 or RX 5500 would be OK if you wanted to tighten the budget belt. If you want to be budget conscious but get more gaming performance, look for an open box deal on newegg for a 5700XT

EDIT: Keep in mind that 4000 series AMD cpu and gen 10 Intel as well as Big Navi and new RTX cards on the horizon by fall/end of the year. Your mileage may vary

Thanks Flayed for the reply. A few questions. If I don't plan to overclock do I need to get an aftermarket CPU cooler? As far as the video card is there an equivalent XFX or EVGA branded one? The graphics cards I've had in the past are the only components that have failed on me partly because I use them for so long and their customer service has been top notch in RMAing. Any recommendations on a good case?
