Hello I am looking for the best "Gaming" ram for my i7-4770k and Asus Maximus 6 Hero mobo combo. I want the best i am looking for 16gb ram!

Also looking for the best liquid cooling system for my i7-4770k i want to overclock to 4.2ghz and i want the liquid cooler to be able to keep haswells high temps down. Should i get this one CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm or are there better ones? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032

Also looking for a good 2TB high performance HDD i was looking at this drive: WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236624 is this a good HDD or are there better ones?

Parts i already have
Case: Carbide Series 400rR Mid-Tower Case http://www.corsair.com/pc-cases/carbide-series-pc-case/carbide-series-400r-mid-tower-case.html

Power Supply: Professional Series HX850 - 80 Plus Silver Crtified modular power supply http://www.corsair.com/professional-series-hx850-80-plus-silver-certified-modular-power-supply.html

I have heard the same thing but i still want 16gb ram and the best ram! 😛

never really heard of that brand do you have any other suggestions on good brands of ram?

h100i will be plenty for cooling the i7-4770k past 4.2Ghz, most people reach 4.5Ghz with that cooler, though you can always end up with a not-so-good chip. Noctua NH-D14 air cooler is about $70 and performs better then the h100i in most situations.

Haswell boards support 1866 memory without overclocking, might as well get that. 2133 or higher will also work, just depends on how deep your pockets are.

WD Black drives offer the best warranty available I believe, as well as excellent performance without getting into 10K RPM and faster drives.

well i plan on spending 150-200$ on ram and the same on HDD and what ever the best liquid cooling system is don't really care about money on that since haswell has high temps

Haswell in general scales very well to DRAM, see here:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7364/memory-scaling-on-haswell

and with today's prices being what they are 1866 and even 2133 are often with a few dollars of good 1600 sticks, I've tested a lot of DRAM on my Hero build and other Z87 mobos, and the best I've found to date is the GSkill Trident X's, with Haswell for gaming would look at their 1866/8 or 2133/9 sticks

The WD Black is a good HD, should be happy with it, the Blues are the same drives and often a couple bucks cheaper (beware the Green though, those are 5400 RPM vs the blue/black's 7200 RPM)

On a cooler, if planning 4.2 or even up to 4.4, can do just fine with a Hyper 212 EVO, or (higher priced) a Phantek rather than the $110 + for a H100i

im pretty noob when it comes to building computers and ram i know more about motherboards and cpus and GPUs but do you think i need 16gb or just stay with 8? with the set up i already have

Yes i do use an SSD i have the Samsung 840 EVO 500GB ok ya then i want 16gb

Well there is no point in paying yourself silly for minor performance improvement.
So the Gskill Ripjaws X 2x8GB CAS9 2133Mhz kit I listed above should work well for you.

And if you want to go with the trident X then basically 2 choices are reasonable.
GSkill Trident X 2x8GB Cas10 2400Mhz $174.99
Gskill Trident X 2x8GB Cas9 2133Mhz $169.99

Those seem to be the sweet spots for price and performance.
While you may get a benefit going higher the cost difference is huge.

but Tradesman1 just said that the GSkill Trident X work best with my mobo and cpu?

whats the difference between the Gskill Ripjaws and the Trident X anyways?

these right? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231623 or http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231617

* is generally fine for strictly gaming, but with a new rig and if you want it last awhile, if in the budget 16GB is agood idea, it will help speed up other things , especially if you multi-task, do any imaging, video, CAD, VMs, et al o or thinking of doing so, plus as new games/apps come out that utilize DRAM more you'll already have 16GB which will hopefully be good for a year or two anyway - remember just a year and ahlf or 2 years ago everybody was saying 4 GB was all you'll ever need and most prebuilts had 2-4 GB of DRAM, today, they say 8GB is all you'll ever need, and prebuilts already have moved to 6-8GB for entry level, and many come w/ 16GB, most of my clients are (and have been), going 16-32GB, even many of the gamers

Well i forgot to add this i do plan on live streaming my games on twitch.tv so would 16gb be better? i love to multi task so its also why i picked the i7-4770k for streaming aswell. Could you give me a link to the best 16gb ram for my set up please :) i just want good gaming performance
