Looking for the best graphics card for my setup.

Hello,

I am currently building a new gaming pc (about time as my current one is 6 years old)


Atm I have coming:

Intel i7 4790k (Thermalright Silver Arrow IB-E Extreme cooler to go along)
Corsair Vengeance LP CL9 1866Mhz 16Gb
Asus Sabertooth Mark 1 Z97 Mobo
Some SSD, not decided which one (open for suggestions aswell)
Corsair AX860 Power supply


Build into a NZXT Phantom 820 with full aircooling.

But I have serious problems deciding which graphics card to go with this setup. Money isnt really an issue, but I cant justify buying a Titan.

I am looking for single monitor gaming with everything on ultra (if possible) but not on 4k atm. And a bit future proof as I dont want to buy an new one every year. I dont mind the idea of buying an extra one for SLI in the near future however. And before I forget, I prefer Nvidia.

A 780 would be perfect for that setup.
The OC ones (Or at least the ASUS version I'm interested in) scores, within margin of error, roughly equivalent to the original TITAN. Minus the extra VRAM.
If money is no option, then a 780ti is the best performing single-gpu card on the market right now, it uses the fully unlocked GK110 versus the 780 which has 15 clusters disabled.

Maybe wait a month mind you, Nvidia are apparently set to announce the 800 series mid-way through September, although from rumours, it doesn't look all that interesting.


On the AMD side a 290 or 290x, but as you said, you prefer Nvidia.
