Looking For The Best Route To A Gaming PC

Okay, so I have about $300 to spend for Christmas this year and I am wanting to get my hands on a PC capable of decent frames on the highest settings in most, but NOT ALL, games. Money is so tight with a family of 10 people during Christmas time and I have been wanting to play my 218 game Steam library FOREVER. A Gateway All-In-One is no way to enjoy a great array of PC games. So should I buy an OEM PC on Ebay and upgrade it with a 750 ti? Should I buy parts and build one?

You will need more than $300 to build a decent gamer. Win 7 alone is anywhere from $85 to %100. I presume you already have a monitor, KB, mouse, and some kind of speakers or headphones. Here is an example I came up with for the bare minimum to be able to game at 1080p resolution at medium settings.
