Trying to set up live streaming and need help deciding on a good direction for the system setup.

Note: in addition to streaming, I plan to record the stream to the computer and post stream do some light video editing/production work to publish video.

Add a gaming GPU to this system if you ever find your needs change past streaming...

This build is merely something to give him an idea of what to look for, nothing set in stone. Also the build would be more intensive depending on what games he would be live streaming.

But I do admit maybe the GPU is a bit overkill

Thanks for letting me know your input kindly.

I've updated the question to include that I will now be looking to save the streamed video to the computer and do some post event editing/production work to publish the videos. I'm just breaking into this realm so to begin it will be basic editing/production work with looking to grow organically with it in the future. The point is I'm not looking to purchase a system with the expectation to go into high end, ultra professional production, but still want to be able to handle quite well anything that one growing in this realm could be anticipated and expected to be able to do in the nearer future.

Based on your answers, the build I was looking at seems like it might be way overkill, but what are all your thoughts? Also, are there limitations to AMD vs Intel in the Video Production Realm??

The build looks good imo. But i'm kinda confused on what your looking for. You say you don't want a high end rig but in your OWN partslist you posted a rig that is 9 out of 10 and will run any game on ultra 1080p and maybe higher...ANy way it is a very nice build for the cash

Intel is highly preferred for allround computers, AMD if highly preferred for strictly gamin or tight budget builds. Since you are going to be doing some good hit than stick with intel

Also through in a 250GB SSD for like $80

Well, that's what I meant by mentioning I don't need a setup for the highest professional level of editing, I have no idea what specs are ideal in general, let alone then where to draw the line for what I'm looking to accomplish.

So, you think I could stand to downgrade on certain components? Or is this a good value buy in being set up for future needs as I expand in editing capabilities?
