I'm planning a PC build for gaming here in a month or two. So far my set up looks like this (I'm fairly new to PC build so tell me if anything here is off). I will also be using my computer to host some VMs in virtual box (which is why I seem to have a lot of memory)

MSI Gaming Z97 motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130770&ignorebbr=1
6TB Disk (I currently use about 4TB on my current PC) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236970&ignorebbr=1
1TB SSD boot drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147374&ignorebbr=1
i5 quad core: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117561&ignorebbr=1
geforce 1070 8GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127955&ignorebbr=1
32GB (possibly 64 in the near future) RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231568&ignorebbr=1
NZXT phantom: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146087&cm_re=nzxt_phantom-_-11-146-087-_-Product

Mostly I'm looking for advice on what kind of power supply I should get, and what kind of cooling?

Solution
CPU cooler that processor comes with none.
https://www.amazon.com/CRYORIG-H7-Tower-Cooler-Intel/dp/B00S7YA5FQ
The motherboard does not work with that processor you need a Z170 motherboard and they take DDR4 memory.
1 extra 120mm case fan for the front of the case is all you need.
This power supply would work get the 650 if you wish for overclocking or future upgrades.

You can choose your parts here it does basic compatibility checks and won't let you pick parts that just don't even work together as long as you don't change the filter setting.
