I would like to know the smallest Internal hard drive I can use. (Regardless if it fits or not) I currently have a SATA 2.5" Hard Drive with 8.1pro window. Of course, I'm going to need a kind of adapter W/ no external power source.

As an example, I found a "2.5" SATA 22 pin Male to 1.8" Micro SATA 16 pin Female Adapter convertor" (ebay item number 262584589221) adapter, for use on A micro SATA. Again, I'm not worried if it fits but, does need to be A small hard drive with no external power source. USB doesn't work. Looking for a 7mm thick or thinner and 1.8" or smaller in size.

I'm looking for a cheap $20.00 or less type of hard drive, used or new. Non SSD preferred and at lease 40GB in size.

Also, I have A " Toshiba IDE Ultra ATA100/ATA-6 model number MK8007GAH" I would like to use but, I can't find an adapter. Can anybody find one for me that will work.

Thanks in advance, hope I can find an answer as I've been having trouble getting a responce on other forums.

Bit confused here about the drive you are looking for, what are you putting it in? mSATA and M.2 SATA drives are small, and you may be able to find a used one for $20 somewhere but then you will need an adapter for that to a SATA connection unless whatever you are using has mSATA or M.2 SATA connections.

Not sure what you are talking about an external power source, if it's an internal drive, it will be using the internal power connections, no internal drive has a third power connection.

You need a add some details about what you are trying to do here.

Thanks for you reply. IT's good to know internal drive don't have external power source like that of External USB drive. Not, sure what A aSATA or M.2 Sata is?

Putting it simply I'm needing the smallest hard drive for my computer. any ideas? Using an adapter is expected. If somebody can give my an example of some what what to look for. I'm most likely going to try and find one on ebay. I saw some ATA-100 hard drive but can't find an adapter to use on my existing SATA

Your issue is cost, an adapter for a small drive on it's own is almost $20, never mind the cost of the drive.

You can just get a standard laptop drive for that much, probably would be used. I don't really like ATA to SATA adapters, they tend to not work well or not at all. Why is a 2.5" standard laptop drive too large for you? If it's a standard computer, even a cramped case will have room for one.
