Looking for upgrades

AMD Processor - AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight Core Processor

CPU Cooling - Asetek Liquid Cooling - Maintenance Free

AMD Motherboard - Gigabyte 990FX-Gaming Motherboard

Memory - 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1866MHz

Primary Hard Drive - Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD Read: 540MB/s Write: 410MB/s

Secondary Hard Drive - 2TB 7200 RPM

Graphics Card - Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 2GB


I am looking for an upgrade I recently upgraded the motherboard and CPU. Looking at the GPU whats the next logical step up. Any and help appreciated.

You recently upgraded to an fx8350 and 990FX? What did you upgrade from, out of curiosity?

Personally, I'd say an 8350+960 is a pretty well balanced rig. To step up from a 960, I'd say an absolute minimum GTX 1060 6GB or RX580. Ideally, a step higher to see worthwhile gains* ie 1070 or Vega56.

*The FX8350 is likely to hold you back by the time you get to these tiers of cards though.

I have been looking at a GTX 1060 6GB. Was not sure if this was gonna overstep my current specs. Thanks
