PSU's one of the shady aftermarket local brands BUT good news is - I've taken both your advices... just placed an order for Sapphire HD 7770 1 gb ddr5 + a corsair 550w PSU...

Cancel the order for the Corsair VS550 PSU(which must be yours) and get a Seasonic 500W one.

The Seasonic ECO doesn't have PCIe connectors.
Get Corsair CX430 or Seasonic S12II 430 if budget isn't a problem

It has 2 6+2-pin connectors.
Why would a power supply have 34A on the +12V rail if there are no GPU connectors?

Hmm. I would avoid the Seasonic ECO series.
First of all its discontinued. So that means its old stock.
Once the input voltage is restricted to the 220V range it can't be 80 Plus certified. It doesn't have the 80Plus label.
It uses Teapo capacitors on the secondary.
Cables are not sleeved.

Where did you read it uses Teapo capacitors? I can't find a review of it on the net.

The 115V version is 80+ Bronze certified. The 220V version can't be 80+ certified because 80Plus certification labs operate at 115V.
