Why not just get a USB wireless adapter? They make micro versions that look no bigger than a very small thumb drive. I've used them to get signal in my garage from my house that's 40 ft away through at least one, and sometimes two walls, so unless you're going to be far from the source, it would probably not be a problem.

That will handle any kind of wireless signal that's likely to be in use at this time, and there are certainly less expensive models, and some that are less than half that size. That's just a decent model off the top of my head.
Hello... You need a antennae... and having one just on a CARD and enclosed in your grounded case will block transmission... USB WIFI stick would stick out too... typically in a mobile device application, you could get one that has detachable ones... typically a BNC type connector is used to do this... quick push and turn to lock/unlock.

Buy a plastic case or one with plastic side panels. You could then use a internal card like a laptop uses and mount the antenna inside the case. Even the the antenna will be very close to lots of metal parts that will block the signals and you will likely have to use very small antenna which will also reduce your coverage.

When I comes to computers I would rather have huge ugle antenna but the machine run fast rather than a pretty machine that just looks pretty because it can not get enough signal to actually be a computer.
