My PC has a GTX 960 4GB, and 8 Gigs of RAM and a decent i5. Games well on my current monitor (actually a TV from like '08)

I want a nice new gaming monitor (movie watching, video/photo editing capable is also a plus!) for around $300-$400. 24" - 27" Preferably. Anyone know a decent choice, would be great!
I've found a couple I like but haven't went into the store to look at yet. But I'm also not sure if one of them will fair well with my GPU.
Does a curved monitor reduce FPS significantly? Wouldn't mind the curved Samsung.
