[SOLVED] Looking to build a gaming PC

I'm looking to build a new computer that will be primarily used for gaming. My budget is $1800 shipping to Maldives. I already have a good monitor so I'll only be needing the PC. Any suggestions?

I don't particularly mind the CPU manufacturer but I've had better experiences with NVIDIA GPUs personally. I've never owned or used an AMD CPU before but I used to have an AMD GPU which had terrible driver issues weekly that were hard to deal with.

That's a beautiful setup! How big is the difference I would get if I shelled out money for a 2080 Super instead of a 2070 Super? Is it worthwhile?

I agree except for 3800X and the PSU size 3700X is enough and 650W is enough, the most a RTX 2070 uses is in the 200W neighborhood.

Well, depending on the setup I can go for 1080p or 1440p. Not looking for something that can run 4K. I'd like 1080p 144hz (at least) or 1440p 144 or 60hz.

If you are going 1440p/144hz, it would be sensible to get the 2080S. Anything below that, the 2070S is more than capable to handle. Another factor to look out for is the longevity of the build, because games will keep on getting more and more demanding with time.

There is nothing as future-proof. Technology advances with time, and the best build right now will become mediocre after a few yrs. The above build is solid for 4-5 yrs. If you want better, go with this...

Well, I do 3D animation as a hobby. Maybe it'll come in handy then. I'm not too well versed in this kind of stuff, so I'll leave it up to the forums to help me out.

Well, I did mention to OP that the initial build is sufficient for gaming. But now since he has mentioned 3D animation, the 12 core can be pretty handy in that.

It's decent but you could probably do better for the price. In the $200 range the Gigabyte Aorus and Asrock Steel Legend are much better boards.
