There is nothing as future-proof. Technology advances with time, and the best build right now will become mediocre after a few yrs. The above build is solid for 4-5 yrs. If you want better, go with this...That's true. Won't this build be future-proof? Also if I were to propose a budget of $1900 disregarding import costs, what would the setup look like?
Do you care which CPU/GPU manufacturer you get or not really?
Something like this should be pretty good, with enough budget left for import cost...

I agree except for 3800X and the PSU size 3700X is enough and 650W is enough, the most a RTX 2070 uses is in the 200W neighborhood.Something like this should be pretty good, with enough budget left for import cost...

What resolution you play? That's a beautiful setup! How big is the difference I would get if I shelled out money for a 2080 Super instead of a 2070 Super? Is it worthwhile?
Thank you very much for your suggestion!

https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/rtx-2080-super-vs-rtx-2080-vs-rtx-2070-super/Well, depending on the setup I can go for 1080p or 1440p. Not looking for something that can run 4K. I'd like 1080p 144hz (at least) or 1440p 144 or 60hz.
When the price difference is a mere 15 bucks, it would serve better to get the stronger chip.I agree except for 3800X and the PSU size 3700X is enough and 650W is enough, the most a RTX 2070 uses is in the 200W neighborhood.
If you are going 1440p/144hz, it would be sensible to get the 2080S. Anything below that, the 2070S is more than capable to handle. Another factor to look out for is the longevity of the build, because games will keep on getting more and more demanding with time.Well, depending on the setup I can go for 1080p or 1440p. I believe you got the point.

Do you need a 12 core CPU just for gaming? I feel like that is major overkill. Also keep in mind that the OP is in the Maldives so that would need some adjusting.
Well, I did mention to OP that the initial build is sufficient for gaming. But now since he has mentioned 3D animation, the 12 core can be pretty handy in that.Do you need a 12 core CPU just for gaming? I feel like that is major overkill. Well, I do 3D animation as a hobby. Maybe it'll come in handy then. I'm not too well versed in this kind of stuff, so I'll leave it up to the forums to help me out.
Yeah I could see a 12 core CPU coming in handy for that. Do you have a store that you are buying from?
What do you mean?
It helps to have a store if you are buying locally to know availability of parts and things like that. Because not all parts are available in all countries.
Then you are good with the above builds.Well, I'm planning on shipping them all to the US and then boxing them up and sending them to Maldives. Anything that ships to the US is alright by me.

I understand that it has Wi-Fi capability which is a must on my end, but is it a good board in general? I'm only asking because I saw a few people reviewing it and saying that it's good for the price.
It's decent but you could probably do better for the price. In the $200 range the Gigabyte Aorus and Asrock Steel Legend are much better boards.
