Looking to build a music recording PC with light gaming capabilities. Around $850USD

Long time lurker and first post. You guys are awesome at helping people realize their build dreams, Im really hoping you can help me out.

Ive never built before, and I want to build a PC with the main focus of recording music, and slight gaming ability. I mean running games on the lowest and least taxing settings. Looking for around 850USD, plus or minus 100. I live in South-Eastern Michigan if that makes a difference

Emphasis on being quiet and storage. I already have an audio interface and DAW.

Im not sure about the normally required input, so feel free to yell at me for not providing enough information

You can build a pc a long way up from'light' gaming capabilities with $850.
You are into the realms of 1080p gaming at mostly hi end settings to be frank.

I wasn't aware of that. My main focus is on music, so I don't necessarily need a gaming build
I've been reading about building PCs for a couple months and I want to get serious about it

Any i5 haswell (4XXX) cpu, the asrock anniversary motherboard, 8 gig of gskill 1866 ram, a gtx 960 graphics card,a case, the xfx 550 watt power supply, a dvd burner and windows will cost about that much.

You could skip the solid state drive in the short term to hit budget.This will slow down startup,close and program opening times and make the pc feel like any other dinosaur you ever used.
You could cut the graphics card to a GTX750 T.I. to hit the budget (tho this is not as good value long term if you do actually want to play games). You could skip the graphics card ALTOGETHER in the short term, (a better value idea but the pc will game very badly until you get something).
