Build Advice Looking to build a thin wall hangable computer. Need suggestions with motherbard

If I buy a any cheap laptop motherboard-cpu combo or mini ITX motheboard-cpu combo, would it work with my existing components that I took out from my old laptop (Asus X55C)?

P.S.: I have converted the laptop display to HDMI display using LVDS controller board.

What did you salvage from your Asus X55C? If the drives are SATA based, they will work pretty much any board/SATA port on an itx board out there.

The parts you could use from your old laptop are memory and storage. There are miniITX boards which use laptop memory, usually DDR3 or DDR4. Ditto for storage - if your old laptop' drive was SATA, and you might be able to reuse the WiFi board, if your new motherboard has miniPCI slot available. I doubt, however, you can reused laptop' keyboard and trackpad.
