Hey all:

I'm looking to buy 2 (1080pp within the 23-24" range) monitors that would be incorporated into a future eyefinity build. I am heavily leaning towards IPS screens. I would like to have as minimal of a bezel as possible and have 5ms input lag. I would also like to keep these monitors on the cheaper side if possible. They would be used for gaming and productivity. Would something like the Acer H236Hlbid work well? Also, I don't know if I should be looking for monitors with VESA mounts. Never had them before and don't know if it would be worth having in the future. Thanks.

I highly recommend VESA mounts. Having monitor stand that clamps to the desk can really open up space on your desktop. Also you may actually need to mount if your desk isn't wide enough t support 3 monitors. My 3 dell ultrasharps are about 67" across when setup in landscape just for reference.

I've never seen the acer your talking about so sorry I can't provide a opinion on that.

My desk is definitely long enough to support 3 monitors, I just don't really know if it is worth it, but it might be good to just to have in a monitor.

Do you know of any monitors that are good for under $200? They of course would need to have 5ms or less response time for my gaming. I guess I don't need an IPS, I just want monitors with very small bezels. I'd prefer an IPS, but I'd be willing to go with a VA or LED. Thanks.

Sorry. I haven't really looked at new screens since I got my ultrasharps. When you get them on sale (about 250) well worth it IMO. If your going with triple monitor for gaming I would consider getting an ultrawide instead. Most of my games have issues with the 5760 x 1080 aspect ratio. The only games that work right are MMO's and racing games. And with the MMO's the fps can be a problem with my lonely gtx 680.

I did find this acer at newegg. seems to be a steal. Quick note it does NOT have a vesa mount

i have six Acer A231H monitors, and i regret not buying the IPS versions. and the thick bezels are very ugly unless you're using it only for productivity (excel on one screen, word on another, etc).

10000% get a monitor with a VESA mount, flat back, all connectors going down or sideways. opens up so many options to mounting it - either on a stand or direct to a wall with some simple hardware from Lowe's / Home Depot / etc.

Well actually the triple monitors aren't necessarily for gaming, they are more for working. I like having multiple screens to look at. I have that setup at work and I want something similar at home now.

Also, there is a mount that I could buy so that I could make the Acer H236HLbid compatible with VESA. I am having a hard time finding a monitor that looks similar to it that also has VESA mount points on the back.

Nice. Asus has a decent rep for making good monitors. I'd go with the one you found. Try to get all 3 monitors now. I even suggest waiting till you can afford all 3. Monitors seem to cycle yearly. Even when they don't they can use different panels despite being the same model. The longer you wait the harder it will be to find a matching panels.

The only thing that I would be worried about is the matte finish. I really like vibrant screens and wouldn't want the matte finish to deteriorate the display at all. Do you think this would be a problem with this panel?
