Looking to buy a Amazon Fire tablet

Does anyone have an opinion on the amazon fire tablets (50 dollar version) compared to other tablets. Looking to upgrade my kindle but wanted other features of then reading books.

Its an okay web browser. The only drawback is that you have to use Amazon apps (very limited selection), and there is a lot of Amazon advertising.
