I'm looking to buy a better WiFi USB or WiFi card. Can you suggest really good ones? It'd be nice to get the best value per performance if possible.

I'm currently using this (this one is malfunctioning):

Yes, that would be what I was talking about. You plug one of those into the router ethernet and into a wall plug. You plug the second unit in your room and run an ethernet cable to your PC.

So I just plug one into the routerand in to the wall and the other in an outlet near my PC? With this I don't need to rely on really long Ethernet cables, right?

Yes the power mains are used for data as well as electricity. They don't work for 100% of people. But for the 95% they do work for, they are more consistent that WIFI. If you are concerned about them not working with your household wiring, then be sure to purchase from somewhere that has a liberal return policy.

Is the one I linked something that can last awhile?

Would this have an effect on other people using the WiFi if I use this? Or is it like I'm just another connection.

Okay. Thanks a lot man. I haven't even heard of this until you told me about it. I'll let you know how it goes and choose you as best answer if it's all good. Thanks again and sorry for the trouble.
