[SOLVED] Looking to buy ryzen 7 2700x

Currently my computer has a ryzen 5 2600 and wanted to know how much faster my games will run with this cpu instead. I have a radeon 580 series graphics card as well as 8gb of ram but will be upgrading to 16. Thanks

You would not see much difference unless your games are extremely CPU dependant.
I would wait a while and upgrade to a 3700x if your motherboard can handle it.

Not many games make use of more than 6 physical cores - you'd get better results from a 3600(X), actually. But it's not worth the price - buy a good cooler instead and overclock your current CPU, you'll get similar results for a third of the price.
Also, when a CPU that's actually more powerful comes out, you'll be able to keep the cooler.

Agreed - assuming we're not talking a 1920x1080 monitor that maxes out at 60Hz.

Even then, some newer titles, maxed out, even an rx 580 isn't going to do 60fps. Those are probably few in number, right now. Generally though, I agree, the RX 580 is plenty for 1080p, 60hz, gaming.

4k 60hz, get the fastest you can afford, that your power supply can safely handle. 4k gaming is very demanding, so needs a very powerful GPU. Make and model, of the PSU would probably be helpful to know.

Do you set your resolution in games to 4k (native)? If so, then, depending on the games, if you want high/max details and to be able to play at 60fps, you'd be looking at at least an RTX 2080.
