[SOLVED] Looking to get this pc

Solution
Good price for what it is but theres 2 issues with this system.

It has 1 stick of 8GB of ram at 2666MHz. A Ryzen system should have 2 sticks for the dual channel memory at minimum 3200MHz. This will cause performance lost. They could have easily put 2x4GB or 2x8GB in that system but they didn't. "Gaming system". Not so much.

The GPU is not that good with it's 4GB VRAM. It's not gonna age well but it should do the job in COD Cold War since the GPU recommended is a GTX 970 4GB VRAM.

If you can find a pre-built in the same price range with 2 sticks of RAM and 16GB of RAM total and a better GPU (If you want) that would be the best really.

And these days, if you pay 600 dollars for a PC, then you should have 16gb of memory.
Usually, you should get 12gb or 16gb, but you can get 8. If you want a PC for $500 or less, then you should go with 8gb. But if you have an extremely low budget, then 4gb.

But a $600 PC could have 8, but if you are spending and extra $150, then I would go with 16gb.

NO! Ryzen 5 3500 is a red flag. It's an OEM only chip and the only Ryzen 5 from that generation to not support hyperthreading. A Ryzen 3 3300X is a better gaming CPU than the Ryzen 5 3500. 8-threads vs only 6 and the 3300X is clocked slightly higher. If you really want a Ryzen 5, get a system with a 3600, at least.

An extra 8GB is not 150 dollars more. The difference between some 8GB kit and 16GB kit is literally like 30 dollars. 70 dollars for 8 GB, 100 dollars for 16 GB.

No system should have 8GB nowadays. Maxing 8GB is too easy.
:)I did not say that 8gb of RAM costed 150 dollars. The real price is around 35 dollars.
You did not understand.🏳

If you are spending 250 dollars on a PC, then you should have 4gb of RAM.

But if you are spending an extra 125 dollars, and getting a 375 dollar PC, then you should have 8gb.

But, does that mean that an extra 4gb stick would cost you 125 dollars?

Certainly not. ❌

I totally disagree with you. 8gb is good enough for just about any game, and it is also good for editing images.
If you have a 500 dollar budget, then 8gb would be great.

16GB of RAM is recommended not for playing games but to be able to play a game and have stuff running in the background at the same time while not having to close them down. Maxing 8GB of RAM is way too easy. People will have steam, discord and a lot of programs running and maybe a lot of tabs of chromes and they won't close everything before starting a game. For this reason 16GB of RAM is really good to have and it's cheap.

Even more if the system is using integrated graphics where it can share 2GB of system RAM leaving you with 6GB of RAM for the OS + softwares running + the game running.

Now. Let's talk price. 2x4GB is 40 dollars. 2x8GB is 54 dollars. The 14 dollars on a 599 dollars system is totally worth it.

No systems deserve 8GB of RAM anymore. Not at a 14 dollars cost.
