My PC is being really awkward, and I'd like to reinstall Windows and get a fresh start. Unfortunately one of it's symptoms is that mice don't work for some reason, so I'm not sure what the best way of doing this is going to be.

Obviously I can install Windows without a mouse, the issue is that I need to backup quite a bit of stuff, which may prove challenging without a mouse.

Secondly, how should I be formatting my drives? Should I just be using the installation media to format my SSD and HDD and then install on top, or what? I don't want to screw something up and be left with a non-functioning computer.

Thanks,

Reboot into Windows Safe Mode and see if your mouse works there. If so, you can then backup your data.

Yes, you can use the installation disk to format your boot drive.
Don't have both your SSD & HDD connected when installing Windows. Only connect the drive you're installing Windows to. You can connect the other drive after installation is complete.
