Hi! Just finished building my first mid range gaming rig, and was wondering about running 2 cards at once. I have a Radeoncard that supports 4K and 3D monitors, and outputs a great picture. But I also have a 760 that provides the speed I need in a GPU. Can i use both of these at once on the same motherboard, with the same or better speed as the 760? Please let me know, including any adapters I may need. I have a 750w Bronze rated EVGA PSU, so hopefully power will not be an issue. Thanks!

Solution
Unless theres some new crazy way of running two GPUs in the same PC seperately, like enabling one at a time, no.

You can't SLI/crossfire different models, especially if one is an nVidia (SLI) and one is an AMD (crossfire).

You can use them both at the same time on you're mobo, just not to gain performance in games, or really anywhere, i managed to run 1x gtx 680 while running 3x 7970's for mining, was a massive fuck around but it does work, i believed i had to install nvidia drivers with the gtx 680 in top slot with NO other gpu connected, then added 1x 7970 at a time or some shit, either way u wont be able to use them both in a game to get any sort of improvements

If i had that combo i would use AMD for mining whilst gaming with my NVIDIA, no downtime on mining =P
