Hi! I've recently heard of "RAID" setups using multiple HDDS to "combine" drives unto a single drive. I am thinking of triple booting my computer, to Steam OS, Windows 8, and Mavericks. If I use a 2 TB for the main drive, and 2 small 40GB to run the other OS's, will this allow for a triple boot? Will there be any other setup requirements, and is it necessarily safe? Thanks!

A RAID in a 0 configuration will combine two drives into one, for sake of increased speed and storage capacity. Be aware, that if either of the drives fail, as the data is spread between the two, you will lose data. That does not make this often the best plan. On top of that, in my mind it works best with disks of the same capacity, and combining a 1 TB with a 40 GB will not add much benefit. Also, most 40 GB disks are older, and slower, making this further less an attractive option.

A triple booting system will definitely be more difficult to configure, but can be done. Each OS should be installed on a separate partition. If you have not done this before, I would start with a dual boot and get that working before going for a...
