Hi im trying to run Civ 5 on the windows 10 developer preview, i know this is not the best environment, but it will have to make do. Anyways, i am having an issue only with civ where it will not boot 90% of the time, or if i do boot into the menus it will crash if i try and load a multiplayer game or try and play a solo game.

I downloaded it from steam. I've tried using compatibility settings, re installing windows, re installing the game, verifying the cache, re installing DX.

I have. As much as i've spent time trying to fix this (give or take a few hours.), i have not found this issue to be a reoccurring one. If it means anything this is the event log for when it crashes.

I have the same problem.

I have been running Windows 10 for a couple weeks now, and steam reports 36 hours in-game for Civ V during the past two weeks. Tonight, maybe 4ish hours ago, Windows 10 Technical Preview rebooted and updated itself, rendering the game unplayable. It either crashes immediately or when I click to begin a single player game. I only tried loading directx10/11 (not 9 or touch), have a gtx460, core2duo@2.33ghz, 8gb ram, and an ssd.
