Hello all need some input on updating a older pc system,
- ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AM3 AMD 890FX
- AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 6-Core 3.2 GHz
- 2 XFX Radeon HD 6950 DirectX 11 HD-695A-CNFC 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1
- I just bought G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866
Timing 8-9-9-24
now i know this pc is dated, but was wondering would i be able to throw in a 3rd 6950? and would that be enough graphic power to get me another year or two for decent 1080 gaming? just really dont have alot to do a full rebuild right now . Oh and my cpu is liquid cooled so i can overclock it to give it some more power as well. ive gotten it to about 3.8-9 stable before.
