I am looking to make an upgrade from my current system with a budget around $1500 or less. I do mostly FPS gaming and general web browsing. I don't need a monitor, keyboard, mouse or windows.

This is my current setup:
Intel i7-920
Noctua NH-D14 cooler
6gb's of DDR3 ram
ATI Radeon 5870 1gb XXX edition
Corsair HX850W 850 watt PSU
Intel 530 180gb sata II SSD
WD Black 500gb storage drive
Antec 1200

I am looking at building an AMD Ryzen 1700x system and would like some input on the parts I picked out. Since I am just running at 1080p now, I realize what ever I get maybe overkill for the monitor but I may upgrade the monitor down the road.

Typically with whatever I build, I don't upgrade for several years. So I would like for this build to be as future proof as possible if that is even such a thing in the computer world.

Now I have always been an intel fan in the past but AMD has got my attention with their ryzen processors. I thought about waiting for Coffee Lake to be released but not sure when that will be. If it was being released in the next month, I would consider waiting but the way it sounds is that it may not be released until the end of year or even next year and not sure I want to wait that long. And even then, Coffee Lake will have 6 cores vs 8 cores on the Ryzen 7 series. Of course I know there is more to it than the amount of cores.

So here are the parts I have picked out

COMBO Deal: https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.3517028 577.97

RAM: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232217 177.99
Now I know combo deal has ram too but few mentioned getting ram with the samsung b-die chip and this one has it

CPU Cooler: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4UF53D6676
only one seems to be listed for the AM4 platform

GPU: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487265

SSD: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147372
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226853

PSU: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139200

CASE: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811854018
Having all kinds of lights and stuff is not all that important to me. Yes it's nice, but not needed

I may do some overclocking but nothing to extreme. That is one thing I liked about intel, they seem to overclock higher.

I thought about reusing my PSU, Case and cpu cooler but being the system is 7 years old, not sure I want to trust that PSU. If I did want to use my noctua cooler, noctua is offering a free bracket for the AM4 platform with proof of purchase but have to wait 1-4 weeks to get it or just pay the 8 bucks it costs.

Ty for this. I do like this has a second hard drive included, don't need one right away but would eventually.

I also thought about going liquid cooling but never messed with it before. Always like to try new stuff.

I have not got around to making any purchases yet. I am thinking about going the Intel route. Not sure if would be worth waiting for Coffee Lake or not. Read somewhere that it will be released October 10th but not sure if true or not. If I don't wait for Coffee Lake, would go with a 7700k.

Here is an intel build I put together.
