Hi wondering if anyone might be able to offer some advice

Im looking to upgrade either my GPU or CPU and im not sure which, im currently running a R5 3400G and RX 580 and im leaing towards an upgrade towards a RTX 3060 or for CPU a R5 5600
If i were to go with the GPU upgrade would i effectively be downgrading with the bottleneck it would create, and which do you guys consider is the better component to upgrade first.

all responses appreciated

Thats not how bottlenecking works, which is a term that is typically overused in improper manners.

I would say the move to a RTX 3060 would be a solid investment, your processor should have no issue keeping up.

Damn thats news to me, so my CPU wouldnt just crumble under a 3060?, genuine question.

thank you for your advice

Ive also heard that the rx6600 and 6600xt is a good equivelant and even better than the 3060 is this true?

Some games are graphics limited like fast action shooters.
Others are cpu core speed limited like strategy, sims, and mmo.
Multiplayer tends to like many threads.

You need to find out which.

To help clarify your CPU/GPU options, run this test:

Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

another thing is in most large scale tactical fps games like squad, hell let loose and rising storm 2 vietnam, my fps gets stuck at around 50 to 60 no matter the combination of settings i use, not sure if this is of any use but just in case
