Looking to upgrade but need help deciding on a final decision

Hi all it's me again. I'm having an issue with my current GPU, an EVGA GTX 960 FTW edition that was bought refurbished from Newegg. What's happening is the graphics on a YouTube video will start fine with a picture but will go to a snow-like quality where you can see the models moving in the meta.

So I'm looking for a new GPU and I've narrowed it down to three on eBay: a GTX 780 TI, GTX 970 and the GTX 980. All three of them are significantly higher up compared to the GTX 960 on passmark.com, but I'm having trouble deciding on just buying one. I know I can get am RX 480 for the same price and I can get a return through Newegg, however that's last case scenario because I want to hear from you guys and see of buying from eBay is a good idea to buy a GPU.

How much are the gpu's you are looking at on ebay?

The 780 ti I'm looking at is around $165, plus shipping.
The 970 is around $200, plus shipping.
The 980 I'm looking at is around $250.

Hmm well I know you said you wanted to try ebay but I would just go to newegg and pick up a gtx 1060 which is on the same level as the 980 for 250 it will be brand new with warranty and could get a mail in rebate on them for the same price

Would you rather have a 1060 or the 480? Because both are nice, but one is cheaper than the other due to a variety of factors. I will add that my CPU and motherboard are AMD, so would that hinder your thoughts on buying a 1060 or a 480?

Well I know many people say 480 due to future vulkan and what so ever. But it will be a while before that is in full effect. I would say go for the 1060 as it's slightly better in dx11 and it will be better for power consumption and heat in your system. As you said your cpu and motherboard are already amd and amd have been know for high power and high heat so I wouldn't throw in a 480 due to raising those thing even higher.

Does it matter on the gbs?

Not really too much from the 3gb to 6gb but I would probably just go 6gb verison just to have it for the future if you need it!
